Hospital

If possible, prepare your hospital stay

  • Collect all the documents needed as follows: ID card, SIS card, name and telephone contact of your doctor, the person to get in touch with during your stay, your “accident” insurance (if you are admitted to hospital subsequent to an acci¬dent), your hospital and medical expenses insurance.
We recommend you not to tell the hospital should you have a hospital insurance because additional fees could be increased (this is only available if conditions including your insurance policy allows it).
  • Take only what is strictly necessary : suitable clothes, toiletry products, something to read. Do not take any big amount of money and leave your mobile phone and valuable items at home.

Payment :

  • The hospital might ask you to pay for a deposit.
  • An invoice showing the balance due will be sent to your home address.
  • You have 30 days to settle the invoice.
  • Check the document before paying (otherwise it will be assumed you agree with the required amount).
  • If you have any doubts get in touch with Partenamut legal aid service (Défense des membres).
  • The social security system does not reimburse these costs: this is the amount directly chargeable to you.
  • Partenamut can provide you with a hospital and medical expenses insurance: "Hospitalia".
